PROFILE: Rumah Kaum Muda

Our vision is to become a reliable NGO in facilitating youth enabling them to grow up with critical minds, appreciate plurality, and willing to take real actions for the betterment of their immediate community, and the world. Our mission is to participate in the efforts of helping the young generation to gain life skill through various alternative educational processes, by making use of local learning resources.

Rumah KaMu has evolved into a one-stop center for training, research and resource material related to every conceivable facet of youth development. Our Work We undertake training programs applying participatory approaches with encourage the high participation, cultivate curiously, as well critical minds and personality of the trainees. Experiment on alternative learning methods makes the training, relevant with the socio-psychological condition of the youth, running in a fresh and smart dialogical process. For the last two years 263 participants have participated in our trainings, that we organized or involved as facilitator. Beside our routine trainings, such as Youth Camp (annual program), we conduct tentative trainings on the request of our partner organizations.

The topic of our research generally on young people education, either in formal or informal setting. We document field experience, learning processes, and innovations in the scope the vision of our. This material, in form of printed and electronic document and documentary film in Indonesia and English, is available on request.
